History Society

Albury History Society was founded in 1971 with the aims of promoting interest and research in local history.  Between March and November each year it puts on illustrated talks and visits to places of historical interest.  Talks take place in the Village Hall at 8 pm on the second Tuesday of the month.

An extensive archive of historical material, going back to the 16th Century, was built up over the years, which is now housed in the Surrey History Centre in Woking.  The records have been catalogued and are available for visitors, whether for research or general interest (contact the Surrey History Centre on 01483 518737).
